Chapter 71

“HIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ART”

CHAPTER : 71 . 

RORISANG . 

I don't know why Lwandile is shaking me , can't he see that he's disturbing my sleep ? 

“Lwandile uh-uh! Let me sleep ..” he's still shaking me ..

“Rorisang wake up ..” I shake my head facing the other side . 

“no ..” I say trying to drift off to sleep . 

“Rorisang , i think your water broke ..” huh ? I jump off the bed immediately seeing the bed wet . 

“what the hell ?” I say running my hands down there , no .. but how ? 

“lord ..” I say heaving a sigh . 

“are you in pain ?” he asks and I shake my head . 

“I'm not ..” 

“uhm .. should we go to the hospital ?” I shake my head . 

“I'm not in any pain , lets just wait for tomorrow morning and see what happens .” I say and he nods .

“let me change these sheets ..” he says pulling them off . I'm not even on my full term , how can my water break ? now nerves are taking off . 

“come ..” he says once he places new sheets on the bed . 

“i need to change ..” I say and he nods . He walks into the closet and comes back with another night dress . He helps me change then I put on my socks . We jump in bed ..

“are you sure you aren't in pain ?” 

“I'm sure ..” he kisses my forehead .

My back hurts even more this morning , Lwandile is here rubbing it . My lower abdomen area feels a bit heavy , I did tell Kgothatso what's happening and she said she'll be here once she's done with everything she's doing . She is a mother and married woman after all . 

“is it better ?” I nod tightly and stand up . I could've sworn my belly enlarged in a few hours while I was sleeping .

“wanna go eat ?” I glance at him . 

“i can't have anything right now ..” I say and he sighs . 

“I'm going to make you some soft porridge .” he says , I'm not a fan of porridge but .. 

“not too much .” he nods . He bends over and puts on my sleepers for me . 

“thank you baby .” he nods pulling me up and kissing my forehead . He holds my hand as we walk downstairs , tell me why Thando is eating alot ? so many potato chips all in one go ? 

“are you somehow in my situation as well ?” she glances at me and stops eating . 

“you guys don't eat anything here . The pantry is full and I'm trying to decrease so anything edible cannot expire .” she says ..

“do whatever you want girl ..” Lwandile leads me to the lounge and I sit . 

“I'll be back ..” he says walking to the kitchen . 

“are you okay ?” I nod . 

“I'm okay , my water broke though .” I say and she gasps .

“say what now ?” I nod . 

“so exactly why aren't you at the hospital right now pushing my niece out ?” she says . 

“because the contractions have not started yet ? duh ..” I say . 

“we've been waiting months and months for her . She must come now ..” she says . 

“i don't even know if I'm ready .” I say . 

“you had months and months to prepare .” she says .

“hmm ..” I rub my belly , I can definitely feel the movement and the kicking . The more time passes is the more my anxiety increases . I close my eyes listening to the pain intestify , God .. I don't even know if I'm ready . After a while , Lwandile emerges with a bowl on a tray and sits besides me . 

“i put some berries in here , no sugar .” i nod lightly . 

“are you feeding me ?” he nods . He starts feeding me and I swallow .. my throat is drying out . 

“do you want water ?”

“yeah my throat is kinda drying out .” I say . 

“Thando please bring water ..” 

“coming right up ..” she runs to the kitchen . I sigh heavily sitting back . 

“i think I'm in pain .” I say breathing in and out ..

“can we go to the hospital ?” 

“not now .. they're still mild .” I say . 

“i don't even know how to monitor the contractions ..” he says ..

“Kgothatso will help , don't worry .” I say and he nods . Thando comes back with a glass of water and hands it over to me . I gulp it down ..

“Thank you ..” 

“so .. are you full ?” he asks and I nod . 

“i don't want to eat no more , i just want to sit and relax now .” I say . 

“and maybe take a nap .” I say again and he nods , I reposition and rest my head on his lap as he brushes my hair . I slowly drift off to sleep , I just woke up ..

Do you know an electric shock ? like that one that comes and go for a second ? I think im awaken by that . I feel like my uterus is tightening up .. 

“goshh ..” I sit up slowly and take a deep breath . 

“hey baby ..” Kgothatso says emerging from the kitchen with a cup of something ..

“when did you get here ?” 

“while you were sleeping ..” she says kissing my cheek . 

“how do you feel ?” she says smiling . 

“please don't smile , i feel like crying now .” she chuckles . 

“you're doing this for the third time , you're familiar with this .” she says . 

“i last gave birth 13 years ago ..” I say . 

“don't worry , i think you're having early contractions so you're not going to the hospital yet .” she says and I nod . 

“where's Lwandile ?” 

“your fiance is packing the baby's bag upstairs .” she says . 

“no but .. i packed that bag .” 

“he said he just wants to add a few more things .” I nod lightly and sit back . 

“i hate times like these , i wish she could just pop out of nowhere and i don't have to push her out .” she laughs.. 

“and you know that's not even possible .” that's the worst part . 

“i know ..”

“wanna go for a work around the yard ?” I nod . She stands up and pulls me up .

“let me just go and change . This dress is not comfortable .” I say . 

“i love me some preggy woman who doesn't wear long dresses during the pregnancy.” she says as I chuckle lightly . 

“are you coming with me ?”

“of course , who else will help you undress ?” 

“i have a fiance you know ..” 

“he's stressed that one , he's worried about you .” 

“its only right ..” I say as we walk upstairs , I head to our bedroom and find him writing something .. a song or sum ? Idk . He glances at us .

“what's happening ?” 

“nothing I'm just gonna change then we're going out for a walk .” I say and he nods . 

“any pains ?” 

“still mind .” I say . 

“ask your best friend to let me drive her to the hospital please .” he says glancing at Kgothatso . 

“you know your girlie is stubborn .” she says , I walk into the closet and take out the short pink balloon dress . I walk back to the bedroom and throw the dress at Kgothatso .

“is it fine ?” 

“yaah , its gorgeous .” I take off the one I'm wearing and she helps me put on the dress . 

“that's my fiance that you're touching like that .” Lwandile says . 

“she loves it when i touch her like this .” she says pinching my niople and I slap her hand . 

“that hurts wena !” I say and she laughs . 

“askis ..” Lwandile shakes his head focusing on whatever he was doing ..
