CHAPTER : 14

RORISANG MARTINS .

He softly plants a kiss on my nose as I giggle , my phone rings disturbing us . I hope it's not Siyabonga .. I reach out for it and realize it's Ontshiametse that's calling .

“let me just pick this up .” I say getting off him and answering the phone .
“barbie girl ..” she's breathing heavily . No what is it now ??
“Mommy ..” she says crying .
“Ontshiametse ? What's happening ? Why are you crying ?” I say panicking .
“he came .. he came and he kicked my brother .. he kicked Kago badly mama .” my heart stops .
“what ?”
“dad came and hurt Kago , he's crying .. mommy , please .. please come .” I hung up the phone ..
“what's happening ?” he says standing up and coming to me .
“i need to go back home , my kids need me .” I say looking for my keys all over . He grabs both my arms ..
“what's happening ? Why are you panicking ?” I can't control myself , my tears come streaming down .
“he hurt my kids , please .. i need to go . Lwandile please let me go !”
“I'm coming with you ..”
“where are my keys !”

He takes the keys from the couch and I run out , I swear I'm gonna kill Siyabonga ! Not with my kids ! Jane and the staff glance at the both of us , I don't really care at this point , I just want to be with my babies right now .

“let me drive ..”
“no its fine , I'll drive .”
“Rorisang , let me drive ..”

I sigh jumping into the passenger seat and him jumping into the drivers' seat . I'm guessing he has a license ? Oh that shouldn't even be on my mind right now . He enters my house and actually hurts my babies ? Siyabonga disrespects me actually . He starts the car and drives off .. I take my phone dialing Kago's number ... I know he's crying .. he picks up on the third ring as my heart sinks .

“mommy's prince ..” he sniffs .
“mom ..”
“I'm on my way okay ? I'm so sorry Kago , I'm sorry .”
“i hate him ..” my heart sinks .
“I'm sorry , I'm gonna be there in 5 minutes . ”
“okay ..”

I hang up and wipe off my tears , I don't even know what to say to Lwandile . My baby daddy is a lunatic and drunkard .

After a while , he drives in as I immediately jump jump and run inside . I glance at the broken bottle of beer on the floor and frown .. so he was really here !

“Kago , Ontshiametse ??” I say shouting for them .
“upstairs mama ..” I run upstairs with Lwandile following me as we get into Kago's room .

“oh my boy ..”

He's laying on the bed , Ontshiametse is sitting besides him . I kneel on the floor and glance at him . He wipes off his tears ..

“I'm sorry , I'm here now .” I say wiping more of his tears off .
“please make sure i never see him again , please ..”
“he called my brother a mistake .” Ontshiametse says as my heart sinks .
“you'll never be a mistake , you're not a mistake . You're the greatest gift God has ever given me , both of you .” I say .

Ontshiametse glances at Lwandile and smiles lightly .

“hello ..” she says warmly .
“hey ..” he responds .
“you didn't tell me buti Lwandile would be coming .” Kago says slowly sitting up , oh he hurt him badly .
“i guess it's a surprise then ..” Lwandile says smiling at him .
“thank you for coming .” Kago says .
“as long as you're fine .” he says ..
“he just came here and demanded to see you , Kago wasn't letting him in so he started kicking him .” Ontshiametse says as I sigh .
“i feel so bad ..” I say rubbing his forehead .
“please forgive me ..” I say as he sighs .
“i expected this , after all .. he has done alot worse .”

I sigh and stand up .

“where does it hurt ?”
“my ribs hurt , my chest ... my waist and back as well .”
“I'm getting the ointment , I'll be back .”
“Ontshiametse , please bring me a glass of water .” he says asking her .
“okay ..”

She jumps off the bed and walks out as I walk out too . The door of his room closes ..

LWANDILE HLONGWANE .

To even think there are men who don't really appreciate their children as they're supoosed to ? why would you do something like this to your own flesh and blood ?

“are you okay ?” he sighs and shakes his head .
“i hate my dad , i hate him so much . I wish God can just take his life and make him dissappear from earth .”

I sigh and sit besides him .

“i get how you're feeling , I'm angry at my own father for being a criminal and getting himself arrested ” I say .
“your dad is arrested ?”
“yeah , its been 20 years now but we're not there ..” he nods .
“i just don't understand why he had to be my dad .”
“we don't choose our own families , parents or siblings .”
“i feel like my mother was made the exactly how I'd want my mother to be .” I smile .
“you're overprotective of your mother ..” I say .
“after witnessing what she went through because of him , constantly sending him money that he doesn't deserve .. i just want to place her under my wing and protect her .” I chuckle .
“and I'm guessing your wing is big enough ?” he chuckles .
“but you're here , you can place her under your wing and I'll place my sister . ”
“you're a good boy whose missing the love of a father .” I say .. I , for one would love to have a son like Kagoentle . Respectful and caring ..
“my own father calls me a mistake .”
“you're not a mistake , Rorisang already told you . You're an even more beautiful gift , you made her a mother . Look at you now , you're a big boy , she raised you with respect and values . She didn't let you live as your per your own choice ..” I say .
“you think so ?”
“i know so .”

The door opens and Ontshiametse walks in ...

“I'm sorry , here's your water .” she says .
“thank you sis .”
“you can sit .. i want to talk to the both of you .”
“ohh ..”

She closes the door and sits down ..

“its not a secret , your mother and i are inlove right ?” I say .
“yes , we know that .”
“nothing has to be awkward , you're turning 16 and you're turning 13 next year .. you're both gonna be teenagers .”
“quite scary ..” Ontshiametse says .
“all this stuff your father is doing , i don't want you to bottle anything up . I want you to talk about anything that's bothering you . From your dad to your friends .. bottling things up should never be the issue . Those tears must roll down .. they must stream down if you're hurt .. so you can actually catch a breather and reflect on what happened . Your mother is a very strong woman , she had you both when she was very young but you could never say because she's holding herself together . She's prioritizing you over anyone else .” I say as they nod .
“yeah you're right .” Kago says .
“she's probably downstairs crying ..” Ontshiametse says .
“she doesn't want to show you how hurt she is , she feels she's responsible for whatever is happening . Though you always tell her its not her fault , she's gonna feel its her fault because she fell for him years back .” I say and take a deep breath .
“i don't know your dad , i don't want to know him because to me , he's a very disgusting man .” he's a fucker , a pussy but of course .. I'll never say it infront of them .
“you must not know him , he'd kill you just because you and mommy are together .” I chuckle lightly .
“i wouldn't let him , so .. if you guys ever need someone to talk to , I'm here . I'm your buddy , I'll listen to whatever you have to say . I'll let you cry , you didn't cry right now , you just shed tears .” I stand up .
“thank you .. i needed this .” Kagoentle says .
“you're not a weak boy , next time he pushes you . Stand up tall and show him that you can't be pushed away like that . Don't feed him the satisfaction of him always beating you up because you're being "disrespectful" , he'll realize one day when you both are grown up that he really missed out on a lot .”
“and we won't even be here to entertain him” Ontshiametse says .
“oh thank you so much Buti Lwandile for this .. i wish you were somehow our dad , right now our biological father is Satan who has invaded earth .” he says .. me? A father ? makes sense ..
“let me go check on your mother ..”
“okay ” they both say as I walk out ..
