CHAPTER : 21 .

RORISANG MARTINS .

My phone is ringing , no but I'm sleeping . A day at the mall was tiring , Kago and Ontshiametse kept wanting things that weren't even on the list but keh .. they're my babies , what can I do ? now .. back to the ringing phone , I reach out for it .

“hello ?” I say sleepy .
“baby ..” he says as I glance at the screen . At this time though ?
“Lwandile ?” I say .
“did i wake you up ?” he says , why does he sound worried though ?
“yeah you woke me up , what's up ?”
“can you come here ?” what ?? Is he crazy or sum ?
“Lwandile , its 2h00am in the morning .” I say .
“i have something to tell you , before you find out from people . I want to tell you everything .” wait what ? what's going on bandla ?
“what do you want to tell me ?” I say .
“i want to tell you face to face ..”
“i can't leave Kago and Ontshiametse .” I say ..
“come with them , they'll sleep inside . This can't wait , i want to be loyal to you , trustworthy and all that . Please Rori ..”
“you're scaring me .”
“please ..” I sigh ..
“fine ..”

I say hanging up the phone and jumping off the bed , I put on his hoddie and my grey track pants . I put on my sleepers and walk to Kago's room . He's fast asleep .. I sit besides him and shake him .

“baby boy ..” I say shaking him as he moves and opens his eyes .
“mom ? What's wrong ?”
“i don't know , we're going to Lwandile's home . Put on your hoddie or sweater . You'll go sleep inside ..” he sits up and nods .
“okay ..”
“I'm going to wake Ontshiametse up , please be ready .” I say walking out and going to Ontshiametse's room , she's also fast asleep . I pick her up , she's not that heavy , she's a light girl .
“ma ??” she says sleepy .
“We're going to Lwandile's home neh ? You'll sleep there .”

Luckily she has her sweater on so I grab her sleepers and walk out , I find Kago downstairs putting his hoddie on .

“the car keys ..” he grabs the Range Rover keys from the other keys and we walk out . He unlocks the car and we jump in , I take the car keys from him and start the car .

“should i turn the heater on ?”
“yes mommy .” I turn the heater on and drive off . I'm really panicking .. what does he want to tell me at 2h00am in the morning ?

After an hour of driving , I reach Soweto and park my car infront of their gate . I take my phone dialing his number and it starts ringing .

“I'm outside ..” I say .
“hmm , I'm coming .”

I hang-up the phone and wait for him to walk out , he walks out after a few minutes and unlocks the gate as I drive in . I park the car and jump off ..

“what's happening ?”
“let them come inside ..”

I open the rear passenger seat ..

“Kago .. Ontshiametse ..” I shake them as they wake up .
“come ..” I say , they jump off .
“lets go ..”

We walk inside ..

“Rori ??” I glance at Thando who's in the lounge staring at her phone .
“hey ..”
“please share a bed with Ontshiametse , Kago will sleep with Lelo” I glance at him confused , who's Lelo now ?
“okay , hello .”
“hi ..” Ontshiametse replies .
“you guys come with me ..” they follow her as I glance at Lwandile .
“you called me here at 2h00am in the morning , its dark outside and I'm driving with kids . This better be important .”

I say sitting down on the couch , I'm even sleepy . I'm mad actually , I don't like being woken up from my sleep , I totally hate it . He sits besides me and sighs .

“i wish i told you earlier.”
“told me what ?”
“i was in a relationship like .. 5 years ago .” so nna ke tsena kae ?
“so ?” I say .
“lose the attitude , this is actually very important .”
“Lwandile just talk , I'm about to burst right now because you're taking too long .”
“okay .. i have a son . ” I glance at him , is he joking ? No but he's serious .
“are you joking ?” I say .
“i have a 5 year old son .” I'm expecting him to say this is joke but it's not funny .
“what ?”
“Mpumelelo ..” I close my eyes and sigh heavily .
“what the fuck Lwandile ?” forgive me lord but .. hai .
“i know , I'm sorry . I should've told you sooner .” I don't have a problem with the fact that he has a son , I have a problem with the fact that he didn't tell me when we started this dating process .

I rest my chin on my hand shaking my head , now .. you see now .. I'm getting mad .

“what made you want to tell me ?” he sighs .
“my baby mama was actually living with an abusive person so for the sake of my son , i bought the both of them here .” I'm gonna burst , what does he mean he brought them here ?
“huh ??”
“Londiwe is her name , she's gonna stay here for a while .”
“you mean here ? right here in this house ?” he nods and I shake my head .
“this is not a gbv rehab facility ..” I say .
“i know but ..”
“sharp , your son can live here . I don't have a problem with that but your baby mama ? I don't think so .”
“she has nowhere else to go .”
“did your mother agree to this ?”
“she didn't want to but i begged .”
“you begged ? What the fuck Lwandile ?” forgive me for swearing again God but Lwandile is getting on my nerves .
“she's been sexually , physically and emotionally abused , i have to look out for her , she's the mother of my son . Please have a heart .”
“i guess i don't have a heart ..”

I say shifting away from him ..

“you're irritating me right now ...” I say .
“I'll tell her to look for a place to stay then , just let her spend a few days here so she can heal . She doesn't look good at all .” I sigh .. I've been physically and emotionally abused at some point so .. I have to understand .
“okay ..” he holds my hand .
“I'm sorry for not telling you sooner , i just didn't know how to tell you .”
“i have kids as well , grown up kids . Its okay if you have a child as well , i can't be mad because i bring two in this relationship .” I say .
“come closer now .. you shifted because of anger .”

I shift closer and rest my head on his chest .

“you don't love her .. right ?”
“that shouldn't even be a question , i don't love her .” I nod .
“i trust you .”
“you're sleeping here ...”
“of course , do you think I'll drive back ? I'm still very sleepy .”
“I'm sorry i woke you up , it was weighing heavily on me . I couldn't even sleep .”
“I'm glad you told me sooner , imagine if I had to come and see her on Sunday , ah i would've broken up with you then .”
“i know , im sorry . ” I nod .

He plants a kiss on my forehead .

“lets go sleep , the bed is all warm for you .”
“I'm more than ready to sleep ”

He stands up and pulls me up ..
