CHAPTER : 24

RORISANG MARTINS .

I'm watching her as she peels the potatoes , can I even do that ? yoh . 

“i can't even pill potatoes like that .” she laughs . 

“angithi you put on nails that are long ..” she says laughing , oh Lwandile's mother is the sweetest shame . I'm not even gonna sugarcoat anything . She's so sweet !  

“but your nails are beautiful ..” she says . 

“thank you , I'll take you one day so you can do some manicures and pedicures .” I say . 

“oh i would love that ! ”

“even a foot massage , you've been working all day . You must rest too” I say . 

“how can i rest ? My house is full of beautiful grandchildren . I have to make sure that their stomachs are also full . ” 

“ah these ones don't even eat alot , they love sweet things .”

“your son is quite mature , I'm sure he even has a girlfriend .” I laugh .

“i have a white daughter inlaw mama .” I say as she gasps . 

“hehee ! Kanti ??” I nod . 

“he likes her alot , but they're not in any relationship . I've also adviced them not to rush into anything so they're just friends currrently .”

“shame you're a really great mother , Ontshiametse looks exactly like you .” I smile , that's true .

“yeah she does , she also resembles my mother in some way .” I say sighing . 

“you miss her neh ..” I nod .

“alot ..” 

“its life my child , God will always give and he'll always take .” I nod . 

“she was suffering alot in the world so her passing away made me feel at ease because she could finally be okay in heaven . She would not feel any pain .”

“I'm sure she was as beautiful as you are .” 

“she was , she was the queen of my heart . I really do miss her .”

“if ever you need a hand , I'm always here . You shouldn't feel like im just Lwandile's mother , I'm also your second mother . Whenever you need to talk , nana I'll be here .” I nod . 

“thank you mama , i really appreciate it .” she nods . 

“you're welcome baby ..” 

Thando walks in glancing at her phone , she seems so worried . 

“Thando ? What's wrong ?” her mother says as she sits down . 

“there's only a week left to pay the fees mother . I'm gonna get expelled .” 

“ohh lord ..” 

“what do you mean you're gonna get expelled ? what's going on ?” I say asking .

“this is my second year , so .. at first Lwandile paid the fees upfront for the first year but he couldn't this year because he didn't have a job .” she says as I sigh.

“now they're asking me to pay or I'll not further my studies . That's not what i want ..” I sigh lightly as I glance at their mother who seems worried 

“how much are the fees ? like for the entire year ?”

“they're R345K per month , last year it was 110K per month and he took out a loan to pay but they kept on increasing the fees . So i think the annual fee would be R4.1 million .” my jaw drops , whattt??? 

“which university are you in ?” 

“UJ ..” that's alot of money ! What the actual fuck ? 

“that's a lot of money ..” 

“i don't even know what a million looks like ..” mama exclaims as I sigh . Not like I don't have it but that's a lot of money . 

“has he settled the debt ?” 

“no .. he hasn't but he's been saving for it .” I sigh .. 

“I'll pay your fees .” they both glance at me in shock .

“no Sis Rorisang , i wasn't asking you to pay my fees . Its okay ..” 

“i insist , you can't struggle like this . I'll pay the loan he took out and your fees , for the rest of the years you're gonna be at varsity for ..” 

“ohh Rorisang .. what did we even do to deserve you ? ” I smile . 

“its the least i could do , Thando deserves to complete her studies .” I say . 

“thank you so much , i don't even know what to say .” 

I don't even know how Lwandile will react .. i know he won't allow me to pay for everything but I think I should pay before he even knows that I paid . Therefore , if he gets angry , he'll be fine because the fees and the loan would have already been paid .

So I spent the day cooking with Thando and my mother inlaw , Londiwe has been sleeping all day and I'm guessing it's because she's tired and all that ? My kids along with Mpumelelo have been playing outside , I think I'm obsessed with Mpumelelo's giggles . The kid can giggle adorably .. 

“they've sent the invoice .. they said i can report for classes on Monday !” she says excitedly . So yeah , I paid her fees and the loan Lwandile took out . Although my dad is gonna ask me about the R6 million I took from my business bank account . I said "my" business bank out not the company's bank account .

“i think that's Lwandile ..” oh atleast my man is here shame . I just want to be in his arms right now ..

“Baba !!” This kid is so adorable ! I don't think you understand . 

I glance at Lwandile who just walks in and sits on the table .

“good day ..” 

“yess brother !” Thando says excitedly .

“no don't scream , I'm actually tired .” 

“was it hectic at the office ?” I ask . 

“your dad was there ..” I pop my eyes out as he shakes his head .

“I've never been so scared in my life , your dad is scary !” 

“wait .. you actually met him ?” he nods .

“he came into my office and had a conversation with me .” I laugh .

“judging by how you look , you were terrified .”

“you have no idea ..” His mother laughs .

“aw shame ..” she says . 

“Where's Londiwe ?” I roll my eyes .

“she's sleeping ..” Thando says .

“no but she has to go look for a place ... she can't stay here forever .” he says as I smile a bit .

“i did tell you , where were you taking her ? You know how Londiwe is .. she can use this depression thing to her advantage .” his mother says .

“I'll talk to her .. ” 

“so when she leaves , does she leave with Mpumelelo ?” his mother asks and he shrugs . 

“i don't want him to go though ..”

“we'll talk to her and hear what she has to say ..” they nod . 

“oh brother , you don't have to worry about my fees anymore or the loan that you took out .” he raises his eyebrow .

“why ?” he says keeping his face straight .

“because Sis Rorisang already paid , isn't that nice ?” his mother sighs .. I bite my lower lip glancing at Lwandile who's looking at me with a straight face . You know when you sense trouble ? I sense trouble right now guys , should I run ?
