Chapter 60

“HIS BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF ART”

CHAPTER : 60 . 

— FEW DAYS LATER ..

MSIZI . 

I heave a sigh sitting back as she sits also , Thando just got home . 

“Thandolwethu ..” she glances at me and heaves a sigh . 

“I'm not in the mood for your silly comments.” my wife looks at her . 

“respect ..” she rolls her eyes .

“how can i help you "dad" ?”

“please come and sit down .” i say , she walks to the table and sits down . 

“yes ?” I clear my throat , I never thought this would be me . 

“i want to apologize for everything . For not being here when you were born , i came and didn't change . I'm sorry for not spending any time with you or Lwandile . I feel bad for everything I've done and for not remembering that I've got two children and grandkids that expect me to be there for them instead , I'm here acting like i just turned 13 .” she's glancing at me in shock , I know . I'm shocked too , I didn't think I'd be tired of fighting but the truth is , I'm just fighting myself .

“are you serious ?” she asks shocked and I nod . 

“I just want to build a relationship with my kids , get to know them better . Apparently your brother is a singer and i never knew .” I say heaving a sigh . 

“he's a very good singer , art artist and pianist as well .” My wife says , I've missed out on so much , I'm hurt . 

“i want to make everything right , starting from seeing the girl you all can't stop raving about .” Thando smiles . 

“you want to meet Sis Rorisang ? ” I nod . 

“I'd like to meet her .” I say . 

“they're at church right now , should i ask her to stop by once the service is over ?” she asks and i nod . 

“yes please ..” I say .

“its almost over , ohh Lwandile is going to be so surprised , let me just go and change .”

“suhamba ama party ?” I ask .

“it was just a friend's birthday party , nothing much .” she says walking upstairs . I sigh glancing at my wife who's smiling . 

“what did Matthew say to you ?” she asks . 

“he said alot , but .. i heard him loud and clear . Fighting isn't the solution all the time .” yes , Matthew killed my son but that was on accident and besides , his late ex wife suffered a miscarriage because of me so I'm guessing we're even ? but that's not about it , our children are in love and it's clear that they aren't taking shit from the both of us so why fight ? I just want to fix everything now .

RORISANG .

I place the flowers on the tombstone and wipe off my tears . I never realized how much I miss my mother till now , seeing her name .. the date she died on , I'll never forget that day . 

“also ... I'm pregnant again .” I say sitting down and heaving a sigh .

“Lwandile has a son , a son that i love effortlessly and I've also taken him as my own son . I'm very happy right now and i just want you to bless me and protect your grandchildren . I miss you Ma , i miss you and i wish you were here because now .. dad is not supporting me but i have a wonderful man by my side , i have a family now mommy . I know he has hurt me but .. everyone makes mistakes mommy and i believe he made a mistake naye .” I say . 

“i don't want to say much , I'm hungry right now .” I say laughing . 

“i hope you can actually rest in peace seeing me happy and healthy . I love you mommy and thank you for looking out for me always .” I say standing up . Lwandile brushes my shoulder ..

“ready to go ?” I nod . We walk back to the car and jump in , everyone is sleeping in this car sana . I'm the one who needs to sleep right now . 

“Thando sent a text ..” he says . 

“what did she say ? Is she okay ?”

“yeah ,she's fine don't worry , Dad wants us over for a mini conversation .” I glance at him , Dad ? does he mean his own dad ?

“your dad ?” he nods . 

“I'm as surprised as you .” 

“but .. he doesn't approve of our relationship , why would he want us over ?” I ask confused , I don't get it . 

“we won't go , i don't want to fight with Msizi .” he says .

“its fine , lets go ..” I say and he glances at me .

“Rori ..” 

“your mother will be there , Thando as well . We won't be alone . Lets go , i don't have a problem .” I say and he nods lightly and continues driving , I'm hungry .. I lay down as he continues driving , guys ? how do i tell him I'm hungry because he'll get pissed ? goshh .. I close my eyes dozing off . 

“Rori ..” he shakes me as I open my eyes . 

“hmm ?” he plants a kiss on my lips .

“i got you food .” he got me food ? like actual food ? I sit up and glance at the Mc'D package . 

“who said I'm hungry ?” I say and he smiles . 

“aren't you hungry ?” 

“i am hungry but how did you know ?” 

“i could tell by your expression , why didn't you tell me you were hungry ?” I look down . 

“you were going to get pissed .” I say , he sighs and cups my face .

“i might be pissed but I'm gonna do it either way . I don't want you or my baby to starve . Okay ?” I nod . 

“okay .” he plants another kiss on my face . 

“here's your food .” I smile . 

“thank you .” I say opening the food and grabbing the burger first .

LWANDILE . 

I don't know what the old man is planning but if he starts doing shit , I'm onto him . Forgive me God for swearing on a Sunday but Msizi is very annoying . It reeks of burgers and fries in here , that's because my woman is busy stuffing her face . Moment like these make me want to impregnant her again but we already have 4 and I think we should use protection once our baby is born . 

I just arrived in Sandton , I park my car and jump off . I wake up the kids .. they've been sleeping for over an hour now .

“are we here ?” Kagoentle says jumping off the car and looking around . 

“yes ..” he picks Lelo up and Ontshiametse jumps off as well . Rorisang places the food back in the package and jumps off .

“this is a nice house ” she says . 

“lets go ..” We walk inside , why am I nervous now ? If Msizi says bad stuff to Rori , I don't think I'll be able to put up with it . We head to the kitchen because that's where the voices are coming from . 

“oh my my what do we have here ?” Mom stays placing the spoon down and walking to us , he's looking at us .. why does his face seem softer ?

“hello grandmother ” Ontshiametse says . 

“you both are getting taller by the second yoh !” she says hugging them .

“I'm the taller one though .” Kagoentle says . 

“oh Lelo you no longer know us now .” Lelo laughs going into her arms . 

“(clears throat) can we go and sit down e dining room ?” he says . 

“just us , adults .” he says . 

“babies , why don't you go upstairs to Thando ? She was out partying last night and she has a hungover . Go and bother her a bit .” Mom says . 

“lets go ..” the three of them walk upstairs as we head to the dining room , I sit by Rorisang's side . 

“i though by now you'd be having a really huge belly . Apparently you don't play , you eat .” Mom says and Rori giggles . 

“they're lying , i don't eat a lot . This child is the one making me eat this much .” she responds .

“are you pregnant ?” Msizi says and she nods . 

“yes i am ..” 

“you look so much like your mother , you're taking me to the old days now .” he says heaving a sigh .

“i do look like her .” 

“why are we here ?” I say changing the subject . He looks like he's about to cry , mx cry my foot . 

“i talked to your father yesterday and he told me some harsh words .” he says . 

“my dad ?” Rori asks and he nods . 

“i realized I've been in a war by myself ever since I've been in jail . I blamed your father for something that didn't happen intentionally .” he says heaving a sigh .

“i didn't even think of my family . I got arrested when Lwandile was just 9 years old and Thando wasn't even born .. instead of creating a bond with them for all these missing years . I wanted to exact revenge from your father . I didn't want the both of you to be together .” he says , is he serious right now ? someone pinch me please , I feel like I'm dreaming . 

“i can't take back everything that happened . I can't bring my dead son back , i can't bring back the child your mother lost .” he says .

“but i can apologize for everything I've done to your father , conspiring against you and all that . I just want to start over and build a relationship with my children and grandchildren .” he says glancing at me . Something changed ..

“i haven't even taken an hour off to spend with my wife on a lovely dinner .” he says as I chuckle .

“i want to fix everything , can you let me ?”
