PROLOGUE

Put the suitcases in the boot mafungwase "

I drag the suitcases to boot and put them in. I never thought that I would actually move out from here ,from Umlazi. I spent my childhood here ,the memories that I shared with my beloved ones are here and I had my first birthday party here .but because of my parents wanting to stay in a new environment, where there's peace. They wanted to move ,so it's not my choice but theirs.

I will honestly miss Umlazi, the kind neighbours, the Mangcobo tarven's loudness, the kids playing at the road and I will miss my favorite neighbor, aunt msomi and her grandchildren, they became my second family and gave me so much comfort and love .I will miss them so much.

Pris and his friends passes as i close the boot after packing some boxes in it ,we lock eyes and I feel tears burning my eyes .Aphelele stands besides me and look at us as we lock eyes until he disappears. Aphelele snaps his fingers at me and I finally come back to my senses.

"Yini Aphelele?"

"You really loved him neh ?"

"Uhlanganaphi?"

I say going inside the house and he follows me .

"It's just that I can't believe that you broke up with him ,njengoba wawumthanda kangaka!"

Mom comes and looks at us .

"Wayethanda bani we aphelele?"

I give him a deadly side eye and he clears his throat.

"Ayi muntu mah"

"Mmm"

She gives us a suspicious look and gets out ,I smack his head and he hisses.

"Why are you hitting me?"

I point at him.

"Don't you ever speak about pris again ,unginyanyisa la nx!"

I take one of the boxes and walk outside. While I'm loading the boxes into the truck ,my older brother simphiwe comes to me laughing.i look at him and he puts his arm on my shoulder.

"Buka wawumubi kanjani!"

He shows me a baby picture of myself while laughing. I roll my eyes at him.

"Hahaha very funny simphiwe "

He stops laughing and twists my ear,I hiss.

"Ubiza bani ngoSimphiwe wena huh?"

"Ouch ngiyaxolisa bhuti!"

He lets go of my ear and smacks my forehead.

"You ugly dwarf"

I gasp as he goes away.

After packing the boxes into the truck. Aunt msomi and her grandchildren comes to bid us farewell and we hug each other .other neighbors comes too ,wishing us well .the truck took off following simphiwe's car .

Dad locks the house and gives the agent the keys .we climb in the car and pray then mom starts the engine.i receive a text from an unknown number.

'I know that i hurt you mamina and I'm sorry ,I will forever be grateful of the moments we shared together, the hugs ,texts,kisses,pecks,laughter and you .I didn't deserve you but you gave me so much love ,I repeatedly hurt you and I regret that alot .you mean alot to me and you always will. I wish you the best at your new home ,I love you.

I sniff as I turn off my phone after reading the message. Aphelele looks at me with an side eye while he is busy with his phone .

"Baba mafungwase is crying "

I look at him as dad turns around to look at us .

"Yindaba mafungwase kababa?"

"Ayy nothing baba,"

I wipe my tears and he nods then faces forwards, Aphelele frowns and shakes his head. I wonder how will Yellowwood park feel like?.
