Dante 

*But how I really can't believe this is happening . How is she here ? This is why I did not want to tell them where I live . Fuck where  the fuck is my future wife .*

Dante : Where us she mom ? What did you do? 

Mrs Rodriguez : Well, that's not the welcoming with open arms I was waiting for . 

Dante : Mom, please  just . What did you say to her ? 

Mrs Rodriguez : Who? The maid? 

Dante : What maid? 

Mrs Rodriguez: The one I found here . The fat one. 

Dante : Fuck this us messed up . 

Mrs Rodriguez : Language. 

Dante : Mom, what did you do ? 

*She comes closer to me, grabbing my cheeks .*

Mrs Rodriguez : Baby, I know what's best for you . I'm your mother . 

Dante : Mom . You don't understand . 

Mrs Rodriguez : Oh, but I do now. Now listen to me .  I found a perfect wife for you, and she has a good upbringing.  She's white, and she'll bear me beautiful granddaughter.  

*Seriously, Mom? This is why I prefer talking to Father about things .* 

Dante : What wife Mom, I don't want anyone else . I only want Jade. She's the one I love. 

Mrs Rodriguez : No!!! 

*She snaps.*

Mrs Rodriguez : Sorry , I just want what's best for you . I want everything to be perfect before I leave this world. 

Dante : Don't talk like that, Mom. Please, I don't wanna lose you, and I won't.

*She's my mother.  I  was lonely half of my life yearning for a mother's love . She was very sick for a long time . She suffered from cancer . Finally, it got  removed surgically . I was so scared to lose her, and I'd do anything to keep her she wasn't a part of my life for a long time .*

Mrs Rodriguez : Of course you won't. I'll call her so you can meet her and I've already sent her the address she'll be joining us for dinner . 

Dante : Yes, mom . 

Mrs Rodriguez : Good baby . Now hurry up and get ready.  Dinner will be ready in a few minutes . 

*She perks my lips, and I fake my smile, heading for my room . I have to check on Jade. I dial her phone, and she answers on the 3rs ring*

Dante : Baby? 

Jade : I'm not your baby 

Dante : How are you ? 

Jade : I'm okay 

Dante : I'm sorry . 

Jade : Why are you apologizing? 

Dante : You probably met my mom . She didn't mean all that . She just didn't expect to see you here . 

Jade : She was rude, but it's fine . I don't understand her behavior.  She made it seem like I'm not worthy of you . 

Dante : I'm sorry about that . She doesn't know you yet . I'll talk to her and conduct a meet-up so that she can get to see you the way I see you. 

Jade : If you say so . Look, I have to go and make some food . Ella's sleeping over . 

Dante : Okay, then I love you . Can I come see you later? 

Jade : I love you too . Yes, you can, Daddy. 

*I sigh after dropping the call and heading to the bathroom for a  cold shower. I need it so bad.*
