THREE YEARS LATER….
#NARRATED
KWASOMPISI
Everyone was going up and down, preparing for the big day. A ceremony to celebrate the Queen’s marriage. Married to Mangaliso Mhlongo, who is now a Zondo.
Londi gets inside the room and Zama follows her.
Londi:He’s here.
She says looking outside the window.
Zama:Who is here?
Londi:Solwazi, he’s with that short smurf of his.
Zama laughs but stops herself.
Zama:No need to be bitter.
Londi:I’m still feeling salty that my ancestors couldn’t allow me to be with Solwazi, but gave me his brother.
Zama:I think it’s time you accept the fact that you & Solwazi were just never meant to be together. It hurts I know, but he looks happy with her.
Londi:That should be me.
She was still not in terms with the fact that her chosen one is Mangaliso. What difference does it make because she’s now a Zondo anyway? Maybe Zama is right , maybe it’s the fact that her and Solwazi were just never meant to be. But it hurts so much, seeing him happy and moving on like nothing ever happened between them. They were in love, but he is going on like nothing happened.
She looks at the ring in her finger and sighs.
Zama comes to hug her.
Zama:Just let it be my friend. Mangaliso is also a great guy.
Londi:He is great, but I don’t want him. I want Solwazi.
She starts tearing up. Zama brushes her shoulders, Londi has been going through a lot of heartbreak for Solwazi in the past three years. She hasn’t accepted that they are not soul mates.
She(Zama) doesn’t know if she even loves him, or she loves the idea of dating him.
Londi:This should be us celebrating our wedding.
Zama:Sorry hey. It will get better.

Meanwhile, outside Mangaliso smiles when he sees Solwazi.
It’s still hard to believe how much they get along, given they dated the same girl. But he’s the best brother anyone could ask for. He’s just so calm, it’s contagious.
Solwazi:There’s the man.
He reaches out for a hug.
Mangaliso:Thank you for coming.
Solwazi:I wouldn’t miss it. So how are you?
Mangaliso:Okay, but nervous. This is a huge responsibility for me. Being a King. I don’t know if I can do this.
Solwazi:Come on. You can do this; I know you can. They wouldn’t have chose you if they didn’t know you can do it.
He forced a smile. It still stung a bit that the Ntulis didn’t want him but chose his brother, but in a way he’s glad they did because he’s happy with Andiswa.
Solwazi:Where is Phazama?
Mangaliso:Probably in his hut.
Solwazi:Okay I need to see him. I’ll be back in a few.
Mangaliso:Okay.

ANDISWA
Solwazi asked her to come with him to his brother’s celebration or party, or whatever this was. The royal house gets better Everytime she sees it. She was here for the wedding.
She thinks the Queen doesn’t like her, she’s Solwazi’s ex anyway and Solwazi told her that they broke up because the ancestors said they are not meant to be. She can’t help but wonder if u girl has accepted that. The three years being in a relationship with Solwazi has been amazing, the biggest nice thing in her lifetime. He’s just so kind and loving with her. The way he loves her baby like it’s his own amazes her. The baby daddy never reached out after that saga, and she has given up. Solwazi is taking responsibility so her daughter will never feel the void of having a father.
She is in the kitchen when Thembeka enters the room. She’s Solwazi’s sister, she’s nice.
Thembeka:Koti.
She says flashing her finger at her. She just got engaged and her excitement is visible.
Andiswa:Skwiza. How is the feeling of getting married soon feel?
Thembeka:Out of the moon. Phela I begged Solanda for a year to forgive me after what I did. I never thought he would forgive me, and now he has asked me to marry him. I feel so alive.
Andiswa:*Smiling* Young love. I’m so happy for you.
She hugs her.
Andiswa:Where’s Zee?
Thembeka:Oh she’s in EC, she couldn’t make it.
Just as they were talking, Londi got inside the room all dressed up and smelling nice. But to Andiswa, she had a different feeling. She put her hand over her mouth and had the urge to vomit, she rushed outside and left the two ladies confused. They followed her and saw her vomiting. Thembeka brought water for her and a cloth to wipe her mouth.
Thembeka:Mhhh someone is pregnant.
Andiswa looked at her and frowned. She can’t be pregnant.
Andiswa:I can’t be pregnant.
Thembeka:When you were doing unprotected sex, what did you think would happen?
She asked jokingly.
Londi:You’re pregnant?
The hate and anger in her eyes couldn’t be missed. Now she’s certain this girl doesn’t like her.
Andiswa:Thembeka is crazy, I’m not pregnant. Please excuse me.
She walked away to find Solwazi…

SOLWAZI
He is in Phazama’s hut.
Phazama:You look troubled.
Solwazi:I am a little.
Phazama:*Sighs* I know the reason to that. Can I show you something?
Solwazi:Sure.
Phazama stands up lock the door and comes to kneel back down.
He takes his bones and ask him to blow inside them, he does so.
He throws them and nods.
Solwazi:What’s going on?
Phazama:I just want to show you different futures and maybe you will understand why they did as they did. Close your eyes and bring out your hands.
He did as told. He felt something cold in his hands but he kept his eyes closed.
Phazama:Keep your eyes closed.
He smeared a white liquid on his forehead.
Solwazi cleared his throat as he felt weird, but he trusts Phazama.
He kept his eyes closed and it’s like he could see a vision or something. He concentrated on what he was seeing.
…….
Londi walks inside the room with her high heels. She takes them off so as to not awake him. She’s late. She should have been back home four hours ago, but here she is sneaking in around midnight.
She hears someone clearing their throats behind her and she gasps shocked. He’s still awake?
She turns back smiling nervously.
Londi:Babe…
Solwazi:Where have you been?
Londi:Me and my friends went out and we lost track of time.
Solwazi:Your friends gave you hickeys? Because your neck is red.
She touched her neck and silently cursed.
Londi:Maybe it’s the mosquitoes..
Solwazi:Save it. Even a fool can see when he’s being cheated on! I know you don’t love me, but to disrespect me like this!?
He raises his voice.
Londi:Okay that’s it I’m tired of you Solwazi! Everyday you are nagging and complaining. You’re never happy. I’m tired of it!!!
Solwazi:Because you are treating me like shit!!
Londi:I am not treating you like shit, you should be grateful that your family still even is allowed to stay here after what your family did to mine.
Solwazi:Oh wow so it has come to that!?
Londi:It has escalated to that point! You had a great life growing up while I had to eat crumbs!
Solwazi:I didn’t know anything, the moment I did, I made sure to do the right thing but it seems it was all for nothing.
Londi:Oh I guess we should reward you then.
They continued arguing and shouting at each other. It was pretty bad.
……
…………
Solwazi holds Andiswa’s arms as they get inside the house. She was pushing her huge stomach and it seemed to be heavy for her. He wishes she could give birth already, he doesn’t like seeing her like this.
She sits on the couch.
Solwazi:Do you want me to massage your feet?
Andiswa:Please.
She enjoys his massage.
He places her feet on his lap and starts doing his magic. She moans feeling the pleasure of the massage.
Solwazi:I love you Andiswa. And thank you for carrying my first born. I’m the luckiest man alive.
Andiswa:I love you too baby.
…….
………….
Londi throws the plate at Solwazi’s direction but luckily he ducks, unfortunately it hits their one year old son.
He cries and they rush to him.
Solwazi:You see what you have done. You killed our son!!
Londi:It’s your fault!
Solwazi:He is bleeding. We need to take him to the hospital quickly.
He picks his son up.
…..
…………
Londi and Solwazi get out of court and they both stare at each other.
Solwazi:Maybe this is for the best.
Londi:Yeah. It’s no use forcing. I wish you a great life.
Solwazi:I wish you a great life too. Happy divorce.
Londi:You too. I’m going to the hospital to check on our boy. The doctors said there is a progress.
Solwazi:Okay, I’ll pass by too.
…….
………..
Andiswa laughs and rushes to find Solwazi.
Andiswa:Baby…
Solwazi:What?
Andiswa:You won’t believe this.
Solwazi:Out with it.
He has turned into her gossip buddy.
Andiswa:Apparently Nomusa is divorcing again.
Solwazi:Tjoh! Again? This is the fourth time in one year!
They laugh together.
Andiswa:Let’s leave people’s business. Baby you said you will buy me that handbag.
Solwazi:I have not forgotten. In fact let me go and buy it now.
He runs out and she looks at him smiling, wondering what she did to deserve a good man like him.
........…
Solwazi opens his eyes and breathes in and out rapidly.
Solwazi:What the fuck?
Phazama:Did you see everything?
Solwazi:Yes.
Phazama:So do you at least have an idea why you and Londi weren’t meant to be?
Solwazi:Because we never even loved each other. We always fought and argued, it led to our son being hurt and we ended up divorcing. But with Andiswa, I looked so happy and content. I was laughing.
Phazama:It’s not a matter of they were scared you were going to steal the throne. They wouldn’t have entrusted you with bringing it back to them if they didn’t trust you.
He looks at the door and Solwazi feels a wave of air..
Phazama:Ntuli says he is sorry for making you feel like you were in love. They just did whatever would benefit them at the time, without thinking of you.
Solwazi:He’s here?
He asked spooked.
Phazama:He says you are a good man, they saw that in you and they knew you would do right by them. He really is sorry for playing with your minds and emotions like that. Them keeping you away from Londi is not because they think you would have gotten greedy; but it’s because you would have never been happy if you were with her. Because you didn’t love each other. Eventually, the influence would have worn off.
Solwazi:Tell him I forgive them. Even though it hurt and it felt like I was discarded, but I couldn’t be more happier than I am with Andiswa. At least one positive thing came out of it.
Phazama:He says thank you and congratulations.
Solwazi:for what?
Phazama:You will know soon.
He says smiling.
