A MONTH LATER……..
SOLWAZI
When he got a call a month ago that his father was dead, he thought maybe when he got there, he would find that it’s not him. That his father was still alive. But he was wrong, his father is dead, they brought back his body and gave him a proper funeral. Mkhonto was officiated as king, and he rules now. The will was read, and luckily, his father left his assets to all his children equally. Of course, Mkhonto wasn’t happy that he didn’t get everything, because he’s the “heir”. His ears are starting to hurt from hearing him boasting that he is the heir. As if that means he farts gold.
He is kneeling in front of his father’s grave, and he doesn’t even know what to say. He takes a deep breath.
Solwazi:Hey dad. Uhm…what do I even say?? This month without you has been hard, I still don’t believe that you’re gone. It’s like I can still see you walking around the yard with your scepter. I hope you are okay wherever you are. I miss you, we all miss you. Things are falling apart in this house. Mkhonto has turned into this person that we all don’t know nor recognize. The power of being king has gotten to him. I know he insists that Madida’s spirit is out of him, but I don’t believe such, Phazama, our new seer also says he is not possessed anymore. So why is he acting like this?? The other day he slapped his wife in front of us all, and told us that his marriage is none of our business.
Anyway, I haven’t went to that woman you told me to go to. I think I saw her in my dreams, well maybe it was not her, but I saw a strange woman in my dreams. I wonder what you were hiding dad.
Please be a good ancestor and look over your house because things are upside down.
He places the flowers near the tombstone and stands up. He goes back to the yard, and he sees Mkhonto standing outside looking at him, he shrugs his shoulders and walks away. Mkhonto catches up to him and grabs him roughly by his arm. He winces and pushes him off him.
Solwazi:What’s wrong with you freak!!?
Mkhonto:Why won’t you give up? Why do you poke your nose where it doesn’t belong?
Solwazi:What are you talking about and what is wrong with you??
Mkhonto:Stop searching for things or you will find yourself blind.
Solwazi:Is that a threat?
Mkhonto:Take it whichever way you want. But you have been warned.
He walked away. Solwazi brushed his arm, and it was a bit painful. When did mkhonto have so much strength??
Khethi shows up out of nowhere and smiles at him.
Khethi:Solwazi.
Solwazi:Yebo mamncane.
Khethi:I was wondering where you are, I cooked in my house if you are hungry.
Solwazi:Thank you, but I’m not hungry.
Khethi:Okay, I hope you don’t mind me asking, but don’t you have a girlfriend? I haven’t heard you talking about her.
Solwazi:I don’t like girls, I love boys.
Khethi:What!?
The horrific look on her face almost made him laugh, but he kept a straight face. This woman was his father’s wife but here she was making advances at him.
Solwazi:Yeah, my boyfriend is in Durban.
Khethi: I can’t believe you would prefer to get fucked in the ass!
She was disgusted. She walked away and he laughed a little. Serves her right!!

KHETHI
She went back to her house still wearing the disgusted look on her face, she can’t believe that Solwazi is gay. What a waste!
She called her friend, Nomzamo.
Nomzamo:Girl.
Khethi:Zamo you wont believe this yazi.
Nomzamo:What happened?
Khethi:Isnt it that I invited Solwazi to come and eat in my house? I then asked him if he has a girlfriend and he said he is gay. Can you believe it!!?
Nomzamo laughs out loud and Khethi is confused as to why she’s laughing when she’s angry like this.
Khethi:Is this funny Zamo!?
Nomzamo:I’m sorry my friend, it’s just that you came on too strong at the guy. Ever since he arrived, you have been making it pretty clear that you have a crush on him. He’s probably not even gay, he just wanted to push you away.
KhethiWhy would he do that!?
Nomzamo:The truth that we all know Khethi. You are his late father’s wife. And he’s younger than you.
Khethi:By only a few years.
Nomzamo:Whatever, but I don’t think that guy would do anything with you. I only saw him for a few days, but he looks like a guy who carries himself with so much dignity. Please stop embarrassing yourself my friend and just let it be. You’re his mother.
Khethi:Mxm you’re just jealous because he didn’t even look at your direction.
Nomzamo:Welele. Bye.
She hung up on her.

THEMBEKA
She is with Solanda. She wishes they could fix things and be the couple they were before. But Solanda doesn’t seem to be interested in forgiving her, not that she blames him, she did abort their baby. but it’s been more than a month now. Why won’t he forgive her?
Thembeka:Babe I have apologized, I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I miss you.
Solanda:It’s the fact that I begged you to not go ahead with this, but you still did. It was not your baby alone. It was our baby. You didn’t have the right to do that.
Thembeka:I’m sorry sthandwa sami. I was stupid and I didn’t think. If I could change the way I did things, I would.
Solanda:It’s because you know I love you, that’s why you hurt me like this. You denied me the opportunity to be a father for the first time in my life.
She looked down. She had to do a whole lot more to show him that he’s sorry.

In Sindiswa’s.
Solwazi comes out of his room carrying a small bag.
Sindiswa:Where are you going?
Solwazi:I have to go somewhere.
Zizipho:Where?
Solwazi:There is someone dad told me to go and see when he was still alive. Someone who will tell me the truth about the throne because what is happening here is not make sure.
Sindiswa:Travel safe.
Solwazi:Thank you.
Zizipho:Let me walk you out.
She walked him to his car.
Zizipho:How are you really bhuti?
He sighed. He looked like he hasn’t slept for days.
Solwazi:Taking it one day at a time. I miss him.
Zizipho:I miss him too. It’s like I can still see him walking around.
Solwazi:We will be fine sisi. Let me go.
He threw his bag inside the car and got in.
Zizipho:Bye. Be safe on the road.
She waved at him as the cat drove out.
She walked back inside but was stopped by Phazama.
Phazama:Princess, I’m looking for your brother, Solwazi.
Zizipho:Oh you just missed him. He just left.
Phazama:Where is he going? Will he be back soon?
Zizipho:He said he’s going to someone that dad told him to go and see, that she would tell him the truth about the throne.
She said shrugging her shoulders.
Phazama:Oh? Okay, thank you my princess.
He walked away.
