TEARS OF A ROYAL BLOOD

SOLWAZI

He was on the road and driving to the woman's house.

He hopes his journey is not going to be a failure.

He can't help but feel like there is something pushing him to find out the truth and dethrone Mkhonto. Not that he wants it for himself, but it doesn't feel right with Mkhonto sitting on it.

He hopes he will learn what is happening and how to stop it.

He looks at the time and he was almost there.

Back at the royal house, Phazama hurries to Mkhonto and calls him to his hut.

Mkhonto:What's going on?

He asks already taking off his shoes.

Phazama:It's your brother. Give me Madida.

He closed his eyes.

Madida:What's the matter, Phazama?

His deep voice filled the entire hut.

Phazama:Solwazi is on his way to see someone who will tell him the truth.

Madida:Who is that?

Phazama:I don't know. I was told by his sister..

Madida:Well then do something. We can't let this boy disrupt our plans. Mkhonto is coming along just fine. Where are we with finding plans to bring me back?

Phazama:I'm working on it my king.

Madida:Work faster. I'm tired of being in this body. I tried getting into Qhawe years back but nothing. Solwazi was another case, when he sat on the chair I couldn't even get to him.

Phazama:It's the others protecting him.

He throws his bones and sighs…

Phazama:There is a cloud over him, I can't see where he is and I can't do anything.

Madida:You're a witch, Phazama. Roll over his car or something. Do something!

Phazama:I can't. I don't see him.

Madida:Your father was useful!

Phazama reached for his black calabash that had black liquid. He looked inside it and chanted a foreign language…

Phazama:I still don't see him. They are protecting him.

Madida:Damn it!!

KHETHI

She was still angry at what Solwazi said to her yesterday, she sees Zizipho and rushes to her.

This child doesn't like her and she doesn't care, she just wants to know...

Khethi:Hey Zee.

Zizipho:Yes.

Khethi:I don't mean to pry but uhmm... I overheard your brother saying that he loves men. Is that true?

Zizipho laughs.

Zizipho:My brother? Loving men? You heard wrong. He's straight as a ruler...

She laughs again and walks away...

Khethi clicks her tongue and thinks about what Nomzamo said. Was he really trying to push her away from him!?

Well he thought wrong because she won't be giving up.

With Qhawe gone, she has all the freedom to go after him and nothing will stop her!

One other thing that pisses her off more, is the fact that Qhawe didn't leave even a single cent for her. She wasn't even called to the WILL reading because she wasn't one of the beneficiaries.

He didn't update his will when he married her. How can he just leave nothing to her? Not even a chicken!?

She clicks her tongue as she gets angry even further.

KHOLO

Being Queen mother! Yeah that's it! She walks with her shoulders high every day! Everyone should feel and see that she's the king's mother. The heir to the throne.

She is so proud of Mkhonto, he proved everyone wrong and became the king. He's more confident and is bringing business deals everyday that will benefit the kingdom.

Sindiswa must be having chest pains wherever she is, seeing as her son is not the king.

She always sees Solwazi walking around looking depressed. He'll be fine, it's not the end of the world that he isn't king.

She walks to the throne room and is surprised to find that Mkhonto is not there. He must be with that wife of his.

She clicks her tongue and goes to their house.

She finds Lisa sitting on the couch…

Kholo:You're just sitting here!

Lisa stands up and bows a little to show respect.

Lisa:Mkhonto is not here.

Kholo:Where is he?

Lisa:He went to Bab'Phazama…

Kholo:And why are you just sitting? Have you cooked for him?

She shakes her head.

Kholo:That's why he will take a second wife and you will be left as the bitter first wife. Wake up!

She walks out and goes to Phazama's hut. Luckily, Mkhonto was just walking out.

Kholo:I was looking for you. You don't look okay. What's wrong?

Mkhonto:Mhh nothing. What did you want?

Kholo:I want to talk to you about your wife. She's not royalty Mkhonto and you need a royal wife. Her children could never be the heirs to the throne.

Mkhonto:I'm not taking a second wife, and that's final.

SOLWAZI

He was minutes away from where he was going.

He stops a bit to pee. He parks on the side. He has been holding it in for a while now.

He runs to the bush and releases himself.

He was about to return to his car when a truck came out of nowhere, spiraling out of control and drove straight to his car and the other cars.

He gasped and stepped back. Oh my God!

He touched his heart to see if he was indeed alive..

He is thankful that he stepped out of the car to pee. That truck would have squashed him inside the car.

Other drivers stop and they start calling for help, and the ambulance because it looked like some people got hurt.

Solwazi moves to the incident and the driver of the truck got out of the truck, with a few bruises.

Solwazi slapped the driver.

Solwazi:Reckless driver.

He grabbed him by his shirt. He stinked of alcohol.

Solwazi:How could you be drinking and driving on the road!?

He was about to hit him again when someone held him back.

“We have called the police. We need to help those people. Someone is stuck inside the car”

He let him go and they went to help everyone.

Soon enough the place was surrounded by ambulances and the police. The driver was arrested. Luckily, no one died, those who were seriously hurt were taken to the hospital.

Hours later... Solwazi was at the gate of the house his father told him to go to. He had to walk on foot. He has been walking for hours. He's tired and thirsty and hungry. He couldn't give up, not when he was so close.

A small girl comes to him and opens the gate for him.

He gets inside and the girl leads him to another house inside the yard.

They find an elderly woman sitting on the chairs.

“I have been waiting for you. Bring a chair and water for him”

The little girl does as told.

Solwazi catches his breath and sits down. He finishes the water in just seconds.

Solwazi:I almost had an accident on the way, I walked on foot.

"My name is Martha".

Solwazi:Nice to know you Martha. My father told me to come and see you, he said he was ashamed to tell me.

Martha:I'm sorry about your loss. He was a good man.

He nodded.

Martha:I have known your family even before your father was born. He often came to me for advices and things like that.

Solwazi:He did say. He said there is a secret about the throne that would change the way I look at him. Mkhonto, my brother is the king now and I don't think he's the right person for it. He was possessed by the spirit of Madida for a while but he claims its gone now. I don't trust him. I need you to please tell me what is going on. Because I feel blind.

Martha:You have sat on the chair, haven't you?

Solwazi:I have.

Martha:Did you hear voices?

Solwazi:Not exactly, but I felt different.

Martha:Solwazi, that throne doesn't belong to your family.

Solwazi:I'm sorry what?

Martha:Nqoboka Kingdom was formerly known as kwaSompisi, the Ntulis were the royal family. The Zondos were never royalty.

Solwazi:I think you are mistaken. My family has been the only royal family in Nqoboka.

Martha:Madida was friends with Ntuli the first, he did everything with him and the king confided in him about everything happening in the kingdom. The Zondo family was living in poverty and Madida wanted to change all that. He grew jealous of his friend and wondered why he was royalty. He grew hatred for Ntuli and pretended to be even more closer to him, he studied his patterns, his daily routines, everything about him. Ntuli had a small family, it was only him, his wife and two children.

Madida, one night, sneaked up on Ntuli when he was sleeping and killed him. After that, he cut himself on his wrist and pressed his hand against Ntuli's blood. That started it all. It gave him the power and a portion to royal blood. He was working with a witch obviously, so he got most instructions from him.

He ran out and when Ntuli's family woke up in the morning, they found their king dead. Madida came as a person to offer his condolences but he knew what he did..

They buried Ntuli. Madida was always at the royal house, he manipulated Ntuli's wife to give the throne to him.. The widow did so, thinking because he was friends with her late husband. But once Madida got the title of being the king, he banished Ntuli's wife and children from the kingdom. They were never seen again.

Solwazi:Wait... So we are not royalty? We are just commoners!?

Martha:Yes. That blood sacrifice Madida did ended with him and it didn't make him royalty. Royalty isn't made. You are born with it.

Solwazi:Fuck!

He cursed but reprimanded himself.

Solwazi:So where is the Ntuli family?

Martha:You need to find them and they need to take back what's rightfully theirs. Life hasn't been easy on them.

Solwazi:Where will I even find them? I don't know where to look.

Martha:Relax and focus. There is a reason why some of your ancestors and the Ntuli ancestors are united, they didn't allow Madida to possess you because they knew you're the one who can stop all of this. They knew you're the one who could wipe the tears of a royal blood.

Solwazi sighed and rubbed his hands. This was just too much to take in. All this time, and they are not even royal!? The throne doesn't even belong to them.

It would make sense why Madida is back. He's doing everything to make sure the throne remains with the Zondo’s.

Solwazi:Wait... Is this why my father chose Mkhonto to take after him?

Martha:Because he knew that if he makes you king, you would find out the truth and eventually would have given back the throne to the people it belongs to. The throne is more powerful than anyone thinks. Your heart is pure Solwazi, and they know they can't corrupt your mind. Madida worked with Mkhonto because he was easy access and his mind already had evil thoughts.

Solwazi:Makes sense. I didn't know what was this pushing me to sit on my father's chair but I always found myself sitting on it. And Everytime I would feel different, now I know why. The ancestors are divided. We can only hope that we will defeat this evil.

Martha:Find the Ntuli family and they will help you fight this. The throne belongs to them. Your brother will drag that kingdom to the ground.

Solwazi:I will try my best.

He sat back on the chair. He can't believe that his father died withholding such a big secret! He was not a victim in this too, because he knew the throne didn't belong to them. Instead of doing the right thing, he opted to choose Mkhonto as his heir, covering his family's shame. Mkhonto is also not a victim in this either. He remembers when he punched him because he found him sitting on the chair.
