TEARS OF A ROYAL BLOOD

14

On the road, they were traveling in two cars, with royal guards accompanying them. Mkhonto was quietly sitting in the back of the car, thinking, and he knows it sounds crazy but he thinks he can hear someone speaking inside of him.

“Don't act suspicious, just listen to me” The voice says.

He looks at his father and he wasn't talking. No one in the car was.

“I'm inside your head. Your father is taking you to someone who will take me away from you. I'm your great great grandfather.” the voice spoke again.

He must be going crazy, he refuses to believe that he just heard a voice speaking in his head.

He wants to talk but everyone in the car will look at him like he's crazy.

“I'm sure you've heard of me. I'm Madida.”

OF course he knows Madida, his picture is framed on the wall in the throne room. He was the first to be King in Nqoboka Kingdom.

Madida:You need to stop this car. Don't let them get you in that river. You will lose all the power you feel right now. You will go back to being that useless, pathetic Mkhonto they all looked down on. Your father wants to give Solwazi the throne. He sees how confident you are and he wants to take that away from you, because he loves him more. You cannot allow that to happen..

Mkhonto:What do I do?

He asked whispering.

Qhawe:Did you say something?

Mkhonto:Uhh no.

Madida:Think fast, but do not allow him to get you to that river. He's starting to be a problem like you suspected.

Mkhonto sighed and looked at his father.

In Durban, Solwazi and his mother just arrived and they are now loading everything in the car. Qhawe was not too happy to hear about her leaving but she needed a break from that house.

Zizipho was excited to see her mother and she couldn’t be more happy to hear that she's going to be living with her.

Sindiswa looks around the house in pride. She has been here before, but she is always amazed at how his son is living large. You wouldn't say that he did it all on his own, he went to school and worked hard. He didn't want handouts from his father. He said he wanted his own things.

Solwazi:Dad just sent a message that they are approaching the healer's house.

Sindiswa:I hope Mkhonto finds help. He's a good child.

Solwazi:I hope so too, I need to return to Nqoboka.

Sindiswa:Why don't you stay with us, Solwazi? Things are messy at the royal house.

Solwazi:I can't run away, my father and Mkhonto will bring that kingdom to the ground if I stay here.

Sindiswa:I know it's selfish to even say this, but I wish you didn't care like before. I don't want to lose my son.

Solwazi:I will be careful. Nothing will happen to me. I'll call you everyday.

Sindiswa:Okay…

He gave her a hug and proceeded to find Zizipho.

Solwazi:Ntandokazi yamama.

She smiled and went to hug him.

Zizipho:Bhuti.

Solwazi:So how are you?

Zizipho:I'm fine. Staying here was something I really needed. I'm attending my therapy sessions so well and I can see the difference.

Solwazi:I'm glad to hear that. Anything you need, just call me. I'll always be there for you.

Zizipho:Thank you bhuti. I appreciate it.

Solwazi:I'm going back to Nqoboka. Do you still have enough money?

Zizipho:It's more than enough.

Solwazi:I'll send more just in case.

Zizipho:Okay, thank you.

NARRATED

They were still on the road and the journey just seemed to be long. They thought they would be arriving anyway but the distance just gets long surprisingly.

Qhawe:I'm tired now. I feel like we have been driving in circles. Let's take a break and catch our breath.

The driver stopped the car by the small grass and they got out of the car, stretching themselves.

Mkhonto went to stand on a distance.

Mkhonto:Okay, we need to make a car crash. That will make it more believable.

Madida:Perfect. Remember you are doing this to ensure the throne belongs to you. Qhawe is starting to second guess you and we can't allow that, right?

Mkhonto:Yes, we can't allow it.

Madida:I did everything when I was still in the land of the living to ensure that the throne is rightfully ours. We can't let Solwazi sit on that chair and take the title. It would be the end of everything.

Mkhonto:I won't disappoint.

He walked back to the others.

Qhawe:Are you still okay?

Mkhonto:Yes, it's just my head feels a bit light. Please let's hurry, I want this thing out of me. I'll get in the other car just to sleep.

Qhawe:Okay.

They get into their respective cars.

Mkhonto gets in with one guard in the other car.

He sits on the front and they drive behind Qhawe and the other guards.

Mkhonto:Do you have water here?

Guard:Uhm there is one in the back.

He reaches for the back and takes the bottle of water.

He opens the bottle and drinks a bit of it.

The road was quiet and empty. Only the two cars were on the road.

He(MK) spilled the water on the guard's pants that caused the guard to lose concentration for a second..

Mkhonto uses his other hand to push the guard's hands away from the wheel and the car drove in speed and was inches close with the one in front of them.

Mkhonto pressed the accelerator that caused their car to bump into his father's car.

The guard tried to regain control back but it was impossible and the whole area around him was wet.

Mkhonto opened the door and jumped out, rolling over on the road.

The guard was too late as his car crashed with The King's car, causing a messy accident.

The following day, Solwazi wakes up panting from a terrible dream. He was sweating all over his body. That was a scary dream, he saw his father crossing over to the other side. He is worried because he was supposed to come back yesterday. His phone is not going through. So he doesn't know if they arrived safely or maybe something happened.

He gets out of bed to get some water. It was already morning, he looked at the clock in the wall and the time was 9:44. He has never slept until this late.

He was in the kitchen when he suddenly heard a loud scream coming from the main house.

He didn't waste any time and rushed there to see if no one was hurt.

He found Mam'Kholo on the floor with her hands over her head. Khethi was also crying. Everyone was crying.

He looked to the other side, and there was MK, bruised up and his clothes torn.

Solwazi:Bafo what's going on?

Mkhonto:It's dad.

Solwazi:What happened with dad?

He asked in a shaky voice.

Mkhonto:We had a car accident on the way and he didn't make it. With the other guards. The car fell over the river, I looked for them everywhere but I couldn't find them. They are gone.

Kholo:Not my husband. Yiiii not my husband.…

She cried.

Solwazi felt his knees getting weaker. This was not happening. Not now!

Mkhonto:And by my father's words, I'm the one who takes over from him when he either dies or retires. So I'm the King now. Mkhonto Zondo, the new royal King of Nqoboka Kingdom.

He said that and it sent shivers on Solwazi.
