TEARS OF A ROYAL BLOOD

SOLWAZI

Looking at his mother's reaction, he doesn't know what to think. He doesn't want to think that his mother could have lied to them. She can't have known that Sipho was alive all these years.

Solwazi:Ma?

Sindiswa clears his throat and looks at him.

Sindiswa:Yes I saw his body.

Solwazi:Are you sure?

Sindiswa:Yes. Now please excuse me.

She quickly walked away.

He sighed and went back to his bedroom. He asked Luyanda to send him all the details for Sipho.. If he's really alive, then he's selfish, no excuses. He knows he has a daughter yet he never tried to make any contacts with her! There's no reason as to why you could not keep in contact with your daughter. This will break Zee should she find out her father is alive, but they have to tell her. They have kept enough secrets from her.

The following day, he wasn't going to work today because he has to travel to Nqoboka and see this sick Mkhonto. He's still his brother, despite all that he's done.

He finds the family eating breakfast and he joins them and eats quietly.

Zizipho:Bhuti has your friend found anything?

He sighed.

Solwazi:Not yet.

Zizipho:Okay.

Solwazi:I'm going to Nqoboka, will be back later. They say Mkhonto is sick.

Thembeka:*Worried* He is?

Solwazi:Yes but I will update you when I get back.

Thembeka:Can I go with you?

Solwazi:Yeah you can. Let's go.

LONDIWE

In all honesty, she is not ready for all of this. She doesn't know what role she will play at the royal house. Nomzamo keep on saying she is a Queen but she doesn't see it. She doesn't know how to lead people, let alone a kingdom. She doesn't know anything about being royal. How will she learn it all in such a short period of time? Solwazi said she should work with her, but because of her stubbornness, she just said she's not ready. She could hear that he was bored of her slowness, but she is new at all of this. He has to understand.

She is preparing porridge for her mother.

She grabs a spoon and brings it to her.

Londi:Here's your breakfast.

Nontombi:Thank you my daughter.

She sits up and takes the bowl.

She could see her daughter was not okay.

Nontombi:What's wrong?

Londi:Solwazi said we need to go to Nqoboka and get ready to claim back the throne.

Nontombi:Well he's right.

Londi:I don't know if I'm ready for this ma.

Nontombi:You will never know until you try my baby.

Londi:I'm still young. I'm 24, I don't know if I can do this.

Nontombi:You can do it. If you leave this, you want to live the rest of your life regretting it? I know it's too much to take in and you are still confused, but taking the first step will make your journey easy. I've always been your number one cheer and motivator, I will never direct you to a devil's path.

Londi:Thanks mom. I don't know what I would do without you. I will call Solwazi and tell him we are coming by the weekend. So will we chase out those who are living there?

Nontombi laughs.

Nontombi:I don't know. It's your kingdom.

She breaths nervously. Her kingdom? She is so anxious about all of this. Anything involving royal matters is never good, what if the ancestors want her to marry someone else to grow their Surname?

She rubs her hands and sends Solwazi a text.

SOLWAZI

They just arrived at Nqoboka with Thembeka and he was pleased to receive a message from his heart telling him that she would love to come by over the weekend. That's good, he was worried that he's fighting this battle alone.

Thembeka:This place is not what it used to be. It's so quiet and cold…

She said looking around the yard.

He felt it too. It didn't feel like home anymore, probably because it's not their home.. They went inside and found Kholo nursing Mkhonto in his bedroom…

Solwazi shivered looking at the state Mkhonto was in. He had lost so much weight that you could almost see the bone, it's like life was getting sucked out of him.

Kholo:Great you are here.

Solwazi:I have only been gone for a week. What happened?

Kholo:I would be lying, I don't know what's going on with him. He can't take on solid foods for now, I make him one of those shakes and he drinks them.

"So... S... Lwa", he says faintly from the bed.

Solwazi rushes to him and touches his hand.

Solwazi:What has happened to you brother?

Mkhonto:G..ood...to sss... You…

Solwazi:I'm sorry for not coming anytime sooner. I'm sorry.

He was getting emotional. He didn't expect to see him like this.

MKHONTO

He doesn't know what's happening, but he's so sure that he's dying. He can feel it. His time is nearing in this world. He was happy to see Solwazi. Now he just needs to see Lisa and his children one more time.

Mkhonto:My.. Chi.. Ldren.…

Solwazi:I will arrange it.

He doesn't like the look of pity he's receiving from them. It's better he dies. He is the cause of this mess after all. If only he didn't listen to Madida's voice, none of this would have happened.

THEMBEKA

Seeing her brother like that broke her. She’s sad and she hopes he can make it. She doesn't know what's wrong with him because he is so thin.

One of the other reasons why she wanted to come back was to see Solanda. They have been talking over the phone, he hasn't forgiven her yet but they are getting there. She's not going to give up. She's the reason why he's angry in the first place.

She was about to walk out when her mother came into her room. Okay.

Thembeka:Hey mom.

Kholo:I can't believe that you my daughter would betray me like this.

Thembeka:I betrayed you?

She was confused.

Kholo:Yes.

Thembeka:What did I do?

Kholo:You left with Solwazi.

Thembeka:What beef do you have with Solwazi? He's a good person and has a kind heart. Him and mamkhulu have shown me so much love for the past month more than you could ever do.

Kholo:Oh, so you want her to be your mother now?

Thembeka:I didn't say that. Technically, she is my mother. Can you excuse me? I need to go somewhere.

Kholo:T look, I want you to be my ears. Solwazi wants to give everything to that family. We are the royals not them.

Thembeka:The time to scheme is what I don't have. Please don't involve me in your shady dealings I beg!

She raised her band out to her.

ZIZIPHO

She was meeting up with Luyanda as he said he has some news regarding the Mcelelis. She's nervous, she hopes they found them. Even though his father is gone, but meeting his family would be a pleasure.

She was a bit worried about her mother though, she is awfully quiet today. It's unlike her.

Zizipho:Luya is here. We will be outside.

She tells her mother.

Sindiswa:Okay.

She walks out with chairs and drinks.

Luyanda:Thank you.

Zizipho:So what did you find?

Judging by his facial expression, she was sure if he's bringing good news.

Zizipho:What’s wrong? Did you find my father's family?

Luyanda:Yes.

She sighed relieved.

Luyanda:They are in Eastern Cape. But there's something else.

Zizipho:What?

Luyanda:Sipho Mceleli is alive..

Zizipho:I'm sorry what!?

Luyanda:He's alive and kicking.

Zizipho:Whoa!! My mother told me he was dead. He's dead.

Luyanda:I'm really sorry, but he's alive. I will send you everything the PI sent me.

Zizipho:He's alive? All this time and he has been alive? He knew about me but never came for me?

She was in disbelief and shocked. Saying it with her own mouth that he was alive sent a bitter taste. He can't be alive. Her mother said he died.

She stood up and went inside to her.

Zizipho:They are saying he is alive.

Sindiswa:Who is alive?

Zizipho:My father, Sipho Mceleli. They say he is alive.

Sindiswa gasps and she gets nervous.

Zizipho:Is it true? He's really alive?

Sindiswa:Zizipho…

Zizipho:Did you know?

Sindiswa:I can explain all of this I swear.

Zizipho:Again mom? Another secret? Who even are you?

She ran to her room crying. She felt betrayed and hurt. She didn't know who to blame at this point. Should she blame her mother for not telling her about her father? Or blame her father who didn't come looking for her?

She wrapped herself with the blanket in the bed and silently sobbed. This was just too much. How will she even look at her Father? What will she say to him?

PHAZAMA

He has been away for a month, he went to reconnect with his guides. He's happy to announce that his father's witchcraft left his body. He went to someone who helped him with that. He doesn't want to be a witch. He wants to help people. Starting by the royal house, there are a lot of things still yet to happen and he needs to help.

When Madida almost killed him, that opened his eyes about how being on the bad side is not good. He would have killed him. He knows Mkhonto overpowered him and regained control of his body. But it won't be too long until he tries something else again.

They need to cleanse that throne. Many people have been killed in the name of it. It's too dirty for anyone to sit on it.

He is going back to the royal house tomorrow.

But first, he throws his bones to inspect things.

He frowns seeing something.

He throws them again, and they tell him the same thing.

Phazama:Hayi khona! It can't be. Not after everything he has done to help your daughter. You can't do this to him.
