TEARS OF A ROYAL BLOOD

At the hospital, the doctors were done with checking and helping Londiwe.

Doc:The knife didn't go deeper into her organs, she's okay but we need to keep her for a few hours for monitoring.

Solwazi:Thank you Doc.

He sighed relieved. He thought she was going to die. The way she was crying and screaming on the way was scaring him. Or is it just that she's a dramatic person? He slowly laughs as he recalls how she asked him how old he is.

Inside the ward room, Londiwe sits up straight still feeling a bit dizzy. The medication and injections they gave her was making her drowsy. The nurse is patching her up.

Londiwe:Where's the handsome man that brought me here?

Nurse:You need to rest. How do you feel?

Londiwe:I'm still numb for now.

Nurse:We gave you anaesthetics, it should die down in a few.

Londiwe:I hear all that, but I want to see that cheese that brought me here.

The nurse laughs.

Nurse:He's outside, I'll call him for you.

She finishes with her and goes outside to call Solwazi.

He enters the room and she can't control her excitement.

Londiwe:Imagine I would have died without knowing your name..

Solwazi:Are you always like this?

He asks laughing. She just got stabbed but she's acting like nothing happened.

Londiwe:I'm a carefree person. So what's your name?

Solwazi:Solwazi.

Londiwe:Mine is Londiwe. You're really handsome.

Solwazi laughed some more and sat down. She was definitely talkative.

Londiwe:You know, I saw that guy bumping into me but I didn't feel him stabbing me. I only realized when I felt pain in my stomach. I thought I was dying. Thank you for helping me.

Solwazi:It's okay. How do you feel?

He holds his hand.

Londiwe:They say I'm going to be fine, that the knife didn't go deeper.

Solwazi:No I mean you. How do you feel?

She laughs and look at the ceiling.

Londiwe:I've been through worse Mina. I'll be fine. Buka phela, why don't you give me your numbers?

He opened his eyes wide. What the f**?

She saw the horror in his face and slowly laughed.

Londiwe:Look how spooked you are. I'm joking.

Solwazi:I can't believe that you are so relaxed and laughing after being stabbed.

He was honestly in disbelief, or was she going through some trauma and what not?

Londiwe:Bad things are not anything uncommon in my life.

He sensed the sudden sadness in her voice..

Londiwe:Well I know you are going to disappear soon, it was nice to know you for these few hours. Thank you once again for your help.

ZIZIPHO

Things are not okay between her and her mother. She may be angry at her, but she is still her mother and she kinds of understands her. From how she spoke that day, she seemed to have loved Sipho. Too bad that he's dead, she would have loved to meet him. Just to feel a father's love, even if it's for five minutes. It's the only thing she wishes for. Or even finding his family. But her mother said she didn't know his family, she only had his photo and his name. It's going to be hard to find his family but that's a risk she's willing to take. She just needs to be connected to her real family.

On the recent changes, apparently they are not even royalty at the Zondo’s. She is not moved much though, she's seen how the title of being royal changes people and she doesn't want that. Bhuti Mkhonto was a good person but now he's something else. All because of the throne.

She goes to her mother's room and knocks softly.

"Come in", she says from the inside.

She opens the door and walks in.

She was laying in bed, no doubt she was crying.

She sighs and gets in on the bed with her.

Zizipho:I'm sorry.

Sindiswa:For what?

Zizipho... :For being a difficult child. I'm not going to judge you for what you did, I understand why you went outside of your marriage. Dad was never there. That's why I didn't like him most of the time. He was in the yard but none of his children can say they ever bonded with him and experienced a father's love. He was an absent father and husband. He only cared about royal affairs, not his family. I really don't have the right to blame you.

Sindiswa hugged her close and kissed her forehead.

Sindiswa:Never think you are a difficult child. You have every right to be angry about this. You just found out that 23 years of your life have been a lie. I should have told you the truth when you were old enough, I wasn't going to keep it a secret forever because nothing stays hidden. I'm really sorry. I denied you the chance to know your real family.

Zizipho:But we can still find them, right?

Sindiswa:I don't know Zee.

Zizipho:There has to be something we can do. Bhuti seems to know a lot of people. Maybe he can ask around.

Sindiswa:We will ask him when he gets back.

Zizipho:Thank you. So tell me how was he?

Sindiswa:*Smiling* He was a good man Zee, he knew the right words to say to make me fall in love with him more. He was just so patient and kind. He always had time for me, even when he was busy, he informed me and told me when he would see me. He was everything Qhawe wasn't. He respected me and always wanted to know what I think. I fell in love with him with every minute that passed by.

Zee smiled with tears in her eyes. He sounds like he was a good man, no doubt he would have been a good father to her.

At the hospital, Londiwe was thankful that she wasn't that much hurt. The person who stabbed her must have been an amauter who didn't know what he was doing. She has already given her statement to the police about what happened. She hopes they find him.

Zama:I still can't believe this happened.

Londiwe:Why are you surprised this happened to me?

She asked laughing. No really, what was surprising? She is like the epitome of bad luck.

Zama:I'm just saying. I know you think you are cursed, but that's not true.

Londiwe:Then tell me why every bad thing always happen to me? Last year I was shot and I spent months in a coma, they even wanted to switch off the machines because they thought I was dead.

Zama:You're not cursed Londi, that I know of.

Londiwe:It doesn't matter anymore. We should hurry home before mother notices something is wrong. I don't want her to worry, she just got her chemo and the doctors advised against stress.

Zama:Okay, where is Mr tomato kanti?

Londi:Are you calling my man a tomato?

Zama:Bathong he's not your man. You just met him!

Londi:I know, but I swear God spoke with me and said "Londi my child, this is your husband". We are a match made in heaven.

Zama laughed, nothing surprised her anymore when it came to Londi.

Zama:I give up.

Londi:I would have been an angry ancestor if I died without knowing his name.

Zama:Bakithi Londi can we leave before the taxis run out?

She stood up to help her as she was still a bit weak. Solwazi entered the room and Londi sighed dreamily.

Londi:I thought you left.

Solwazi:And leave you? Never.

Londi winked at Zama and looked back at Solwazi.

Londi winced and sat back on the bed. Solwazi rushed to her.

Solwazi:What's wrong?

Londi:My body is painful. I don't think I'll be able to walk by myself.

She talked while sulking. Solwazi picked her up.

Solwazi:I'm going to carry you. Is it okay?

Londi:Yes please.

She said with puppy eyes.

Solwazi chuckled and picked her up.

Londi looked at Zama and smirked.

Zama:Hayi bandla!

She said clapping her hands and following them.
