Sitting across this room holding my baby in my arms is giving me nothing but the greatest joy. Sphephelosethu is here and she's a very beautiful, she looks exactly like her mother. I think I'm obsessed..

“You've been staring at her for the past hour..” Sbani says sitting up carefully, I glare at her.

“She's perfect..” I say, she nods.

“My replica.” She says, she's not lying. I saw pictures of Sbani as a baby and looking at Sphephelosethu right now, I see Sbani.

“I'm so tired, yoh..” She says, I completely understand. Besides me panicking and being emotional. I'm traumatized because why did she have to go through that when we did this together? It's something I'll never understand.

“I need to kill you for proposing while I'm in pain.” She says, I don't know what's wrong with me to be quite honest. That wasn't the initial plan, at all.

“You said yes though, that's all that matters. Do you love the ring? it's my late mother's ring and I just added a few touches to it.” I say.

“Wait, this is..this is your mother's ring?” She asks, I nod.

“Nkanyezi, you could've bought a different ring, why did you have to give me your mother's ring?” She asks, I shake my head.

“I want you to have it, you remind me of my mother in a way and i know that she would've loved you without hesitation.” She sighs and stares at the ring.

“It's beautiful..” She says.

“I'm glad that you love it, I wouldn't have thought of buying any other ring. I felt like this one would suit you.” I say, she smiles.

“Well I love it and I look forward to being your wife..” She says, it sounds so right. Wife? you mean Mrs Biyela? yeah it sounds right. I heave a sigh and glare at our daughter.

“She's been sleeping..” I say.

“And when she wakes up, she'll cry.” She says, i shake my head. Life has changed for the both of us and I'm grateful to God that this amazing woman gets to be the mother of my daughter and wife to be.

“This is crazy..” She says heaving a sigh, feeling like this gives me so much joy. I'm honored to be able to now being a dad and a husband. A knock comes through the door and her friends walk in holding balloons and some gifts. I'm just letting this slide because they're my fiance's best friends and they showed me yesterday ukuthi they do care for her and the shit they've been going through together is worth moving past.

“Knock knock..” Nkanyiso's girlfriend says, I nod my head "greeting" them back.

“Hey guys..” Sbani says, they place the balloons besides her along with the gifts. They hug her.

“How are you? we woke up first thing in the morning and thought of coming here to see you guys.” Mbali says.

“I'm okay, I need a lot of sleep though.” She says.

“And Mihle, did she sleep well?” They ask her, she nods.

“Besides the crying and us having to stay awake the entire night. She slept well, even now she's just sleeping.” She says, they glare at me. No..I want to hold her in my arms forever. . . . SBANISENKOSI

I glare at Christopher and nod, he carefully hands our baby to Luyanda. She is so tiny haw nkosi yam..

“Hey cutest baby in the world, hey nana..” She says smiling at her. Christopher gets up from the couch.

“I'm getting us some food, I'll be back.” He says, I nod. He walks out and Mbali breathes out in relief.

“Your man is scary..” She says walking to me, she glares at me and before I know it she's screaming.

“Mbali!” Luyanda shouts at her because now she woke up my baby, oh great lord have mercy.

“Hawu Mbali uyabora sahna yoh!” Luyanda says handing the baby over to me.

“B-tch you're engaged! how can you be so chilled?” She asks, I shake my head and take out my boob feeding Sethu.

“And that's making you scream? you're very dramatic.” I say, she shakes her head.

“There's no being chilled here, you have a wedding to plan actually we have a wedding to plan!” She says still making noise.

“You can take her and breastfeed her since you're the one making her cry you know?” I say, she laughs.

“I'm sorry baby but I'm so happy for you. How iconic was that? proposing while you're in labour? your man is the man he thinks he is.” She says.

“And right after that, you were suddenly ready to push. Like? I think Sphephelosethu was just waiting for him to propose so she could make her grand entrance..” Luyanda says, I chuckle.

“Like literally at that moment my vagina started opening up, she was waiting vele.” I say, they laugh and I just chuckle.

“She's cute though and good thing she looks like you. You gave her the face..” She says.

“Chris is also very good looking ma'am, I wouldn't have minded if she looked like him.” I say staring at her while she sucks my boob.

“We got you and the little cutie some stuff, we thought you'd like them.” She says, the house must be full of gifts because the last 9 months, they kept on coming and coming.

“Oh thank you guys, you've been spoiling me yoh. My heart is full shem, I love you guys so so much and thank you for your support.” I say.

“We'd do anything for you, we've been through a rough patch and to even stand here and be with you is just priceless for me.” Mbali says, I nod.

“Life is evolving in such a beautiful way for all of us, even if it's not romantically so but just working on yourself mentally and changing your life around.” Luyanda says.

“This friendship is more than a friendship and for my daughter to be able to have cool aunties, it's a flex for me because I know your salaries are all coming to her.” I say, they laugh.

“And it's so crazy because that's exactly what's gonna happen sahna..” Luyanda says sitting down. I place Sethu in the crib besides me because she's asleep, Mbali covers her up well.

“Yerr, you look like a doll.” She says, I chuckle. I heave a sigh and glare at the ring on my finger. When did I say yes again?
