WRITTEN IN THE STARS:SEASON 2 22
SBANISENKOSI
I just wonder if Luyanda is okay or not, I think I've made up my mind. I don't feel Mosetsana and Nikiwe, I genuinely don't. They may be my fiance's good friends but I truly don't feel them especially Nikiwe, she has some vibe that I don't get. They just left right now and I'm relieved because they kept on getting on my nerves.
I'm washing the dishes in the kitchen, some of the family members have started to arrive so its alot of work. I'm just grateful that I don't have to cook because I don't know how to cook vele. Adrianna just got here with her friend and they're already causing drama..
“Sbani mom asks for some hot water so she can wash her feet.” Adrianna says entering the kitchen.
“I'm washing the dishes right now, you can go give her the water.” I say.
“But she said you must give her the water and not me, why must I do it now?” She asks, I turn around and glare at her after drying my hands.
“Don't disrespect me, take the water from the kettle and take it to your mother Adrianna.” I say, she rolls her eyes and takes the kettle. She storms out of the kitchen, she's going to listen..whether she likes it or not.
Once I'm done doing the dishes, I sweep the kitchen because one of the family members asked to prepare food for everyone so I'll make sure they cook in a clean space. I walk out of the kitchen and head upstairs, it feels like I haven't seen Sethu in forever. I walk into our room and find the both of them sleeping peacefully, I heave a sigh and stand by the door watching little Sethu stretch her arms on her daddy's chest. This is so cute..
“Sbani..” Mrs Biyela says, I snap out of my thoughts and glare at her.
“Yes Ma, is there anything you need?” I ask her, she shakes her head.
“I've been in my bedroom for so long, I'm suffocating in there so I just thought of coming out and going outside to get some fresh air.” She says.
“Oh, we can go to the garden if that's okay with you. I thought Sethu was up hence I came up here.” I say, she nods and glares at Nkanyezi and Sethu who are sleeping.
“She's safe, we can go.” She says, I nod and hold her hand as we walk downstairs. We pass Nicole in the lounge sitting on the couch like she's at her mother's house. We walk outside and head to the garden.
“I don't like this Nicole girl, if it wasn't for Adrianna then I would've long kicked her out.” She says, I sigh.
“It's better to avoid such people. We have so much to focus on right now and I don't want you to be stressed.” I say, she nods and sits on the bench as I follow.
“How's Luyanda?” She asks, I sigh.
“She's not coping, she wants to end her relationship with Nkanyiso.” I say.
“It's a hard time for all of us, I understand where she's coming from and I'll completely understand if she doesn't want Nkanyiso anymore. Her mental health comes first.” She says.
“Are you coping? arg.. this is a very stupid question to ask.” I say, she chuckles a bit.
“It's okay, I'm a bit better than yesterday though. I'm slowly accepting that he's gone and he has probably united with Nkanyezi and Nkanyiso's mother.” She says.
“Probably, but he loved you and you loved him. It'll forever remain like that, you took his kids like your own and I'll always applaud you for that. I don't think I'd have the courage to raise another man's child.” I say.
“We have different experiences as people and I can't fault you on that. That's how you are.” She says, I nod.
“Maybe we could look at the stars in the evening, Nkanyezi says they bring him peace. It's only a matter of time till he starts looking at the stars with Sethu.” I say, she smiles.
“I'd love to do that, maybe I'll also see your name in the sky there by the stars. Maybe I'll see what he's seeing.” She says, I sigh.
“Maybe..” I say.
“What do you think of their friends?” She asks, I literally hoped that this question won't come but either way, I have to be honest.
“Kagiso and Tumelo are okay, they are polite. I'm not so sure about Mosetsana and Nikiwe.” I say.
“Hmm? do you think they're too fake?” She asks.
“Towards me and Luyanda, yes. They act okay around Nkanyezi and Nkanyiso.” I say.
“I have nothing to say about that..” She says, I nod. I move my eyes to Nkanyezi who's walking towards us holding Sphephelosethu who's crying in his arms. That was fast.. I was relieved to be spending a few hours alone.
“She doesn't want to stop crying, I think she's hungry.” He says handing her over to me.
“Are you okay?” His mother asks him, he nods.
“I'm fine..” He says walking off, I breastfeed Sethu.
“Does she smile? I never seen her smile. I think she took after you, you never smile.” She says.
“I never smile? I don't think so..” I say.
“You can smile when you want to but also, you're serious most of the time. You're very intimidating and I like that about you. I believe it was the good old days, you would've beaten Mosetsana and Nikiwe up.” She says, I chuckle.
“I would have but I'm not that person anymore, nor are my friends. We've realized that some people are just not worth it.” I say.
“I'm proud of you, so proud.” She says, I smile.
“You see now I'm smiling? Don't say I don't smile a lot.” I say, she laughs. I'm trying as much as I can to lighten her up. It's not very nice seeing her sad and all.
“May i hold her?” She asks, I glare at Sethu who just returned all the milk I just fed her.
“I don't think she's hungry, here you go..” I say letting her carry Sethu out of my arms.
“Now she looks a lot more like you, your genes are very powerful.” She says, true..
